Edmund Xie was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2010. He completed his legal studies at the University of Victoria, where he received several awards, including prizes in intellectual property law research and contracts.
Before commencing legal studies, Edmund Xie conducted breast cancer research at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, DC. He also holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Ohio State University, where he conducted research on RNA polymerase, transcription factors, transcription regulators, and DNA-binding histone proteins in methane-producing, anaerobic, thermophilic microorganisms. He has several academic publications in Journal of Bacteriology, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Methods in Enzymology, and Stanford Journal of Animal Law and Policy. He currently works for Oyen Wiggs Green & Mutala LLP.
